Rome, Italy

We left Rome a week ago but we didn't have wifi in Athens so I couldn't really blog. Anyway, here are some pictures from our first day in Rome. We started out by finding out apartment which was in the countryside of Rome in Rocha di Papa. The apartment was so perfect and our hosts (for lack of a better word) were incredibly kind and generous. They gave us wine and fruit and pasta and umm a bus schedule. It was great. Oh wait, I just remembered! These aren't pictures from our first day in Rome. We didn't get to our apartment until the afternoon so we just spent the day wondering around the little village (which was up a huuuuge hill) trying to find a grocery store (that wasn't cash-only) because we were starving and we hadn't yet realized that our hosts had totally stocked the kitchen with food to eat and I'm trying to find a way to make this run on sentence even longer but I guess I'll just stop here. So anyway after walking all over and getting grumpy (me) and somehow more positive about life (Anthony) we decided to just go home to starve to death. So anyway. We went home, found the food, spent the rest of the night cooking and drinking wine and laughing la la la.

So umm all that was to say that these pictures are actually from Day Two in Rome.

OMG WE ARE SO CUUUTE. Uhg, seriously. Why do we take picture like this? And why do I post them on the internet where you can all see them and judge me for them (which you should because its gross)?

We went to this excavation sight across from the street from the Coliseum. There were many old things there and lots of history was learned and we had a jolly good time.

LOL, so many picture like this. Get ready...

Trying to take a cheesy picture but the sun was too bright.

Third attempt at the same picture

Aahhh, sweet success. And why were we trying to take a picture with this tree? The world will never know.

There are soooo many stray cats in Rome it is heart breaking. But luckily tourists love to feed them and there are a few local organizations trying to capture and spade/neuter them. But still. We saw a three legged cat hobbling around meowing for food and love and it was really wanted to bring him home with us. I thought he would be a wonderful companion for our two cats, Gwen and Meatloaf, because they could learn Italian and but Anthony was not keen on the idea.

Okthanksbye.
